Thistle Park Petition
Thistle Park has the potential to become a fantastic local park for Meadowbank families — but right now, it’s still falling short of what our community deserves.
As Meadowbank and Ryde continue to grow, access to quality green space is more important than ever. Local residents made it clear they wanted the former Meadowbank Public School site kept for community use, and the Minns Labor Government listened by committing to preserve the land as public open space.
But the job isn’t finished.
The site still lacks many of the basic facilities that would make it a welcoming and usable community park, including play equipment, seating, lighting, landscaping and other amenities local families expect.
That’s why I’ve launched a petition calling on the City of Ryde to stop delaying and start working with the NSW Government to deliver the proper park our community deserves.
We’re calling on the City of Ryde Council to:
Work constructively with the NSW Government to properly manage and maintain the site;
Deliver the facilities and amenities local families need; and
Treat Thistle Park as a priority for our growing community.
Community advocacy helped secure this space as public open space. Now we need to keep pushing to make sure it reaches its full potential.
